Statement by CEO of NextEra Energy Resources on Interior Secretary Salazar's announcement that he is leaving the Obama administration

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, President and CEO Armando Pimentel issued the following statement on the announcement that Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is leaving the Obama administration:

“Secretary Salazar has been a key advocate of the ‘all-of-the-above’ energy strategy advocated by the Obama administration. During his tenure at the Department of the Interior, Secretary Salazar has compiled a long list of noteworthy accomplishments, including overseeing the blueprint for solar energy development in the West.

“Since 2009, the Department of Interior has authorized numerous solar, wind and geothermal energy projects on public lands that will create clean energy and enhance economic development opportunities for the communities that host these projects for years to come.

“Throughout his career, Secretary Salazar has been a true visionary, a strong leader and a faithful public servant. We thank him for his service and wish him well in the next chapter of his life.”
