Nationwide iPledge, My Choice campaign gives employees more freedom

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – NextEra Energy, Inc. will kick off its annual employee giving campaign on Sept. 16 to help communities located throughout the United States. In an effort to give employees more freedom of choice when giving back to their communities, NextEra Energy is launching its new iPledge, My Choice campaign to the nearly 15,000 employees working in 26 states.

iPledge, My Choice gives employees the freedom and convenience to donate to any nonprofit organization they choose using convenient automatic payroll deductions. “Giving back to our communities is at the core of who we are as a company,” said FPL’s Vice President of Development and External Affairs Pamela Rauch. “NextEra Energy employees are extremely passionate about helping others with their time and dollars. Through this new campaign, we are making it much easier for our employees to support any of the thousands of great nonprofits that help make a difference in the lives of our customers.”

NextEra Energy employees have a long history of generously donating to nonprofits. In 2012, NextEra Energy and its employees donated more than $8.1 million to nonprofit organizations, including United Way, American Red Cross and Komen Race for the Cure. The expansion of the company’s annual iPledge employee giving campaign will provide employees the option to donate to any verified 501c3 organization of their choice.
