Moray P. Dewhurst to rejoin FPL Group executive team
Jul 20, 2009

JUNO BEACH, Fla., July 20, 2009 – Effective Aug. 17, 2009, Moray P. Dewhurst will rejoin FPL Group, Inc. (NYSE: FPL) as vice chairman and chief of staff, reporting to Lew Hay, FPL Group chairman and chief executive officer.

Dewhurst, who rejoins FPL Group after taking time off beginning in 2008 to spend more time with his family, will assist the senior executive team on key policy issues and strategic initiatives for the corporation.

“It should be no surprise that we are eager to have Moray rejoin our senior executive team. He is a proven leader who offers deep insights into the business as a result of his superior analytical capabilities and breadth of business experience,” Hay said.

From 2001 to 2008, Dewhurst served as FPL Group’s chief financial officer. Previously, he served as a senior partner and director of Dean & Company, a management consulting and investment firm that he co-founded in 1993. Prior to forming Dean & Company, Dewhurst was a senior partner at Mercer Management Consulting and predecessor management consulting companies.

Dewhurst has a Bachelor of Science degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s in business administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

“Moray’s earlier tenure spanned a period of terrific growth in our business, which produced strong returns for our shareholders. Moray played an important role in helping us to achieve those successes, and I have every confidence he will play an important role in our future success as well,” Hay said.
