Computerworld’s best places to work list is based on an evaluation of companies’ offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, a company’s IT employees are surveyed by Computerworld, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings. Topics covered in the survey included satisfaction with training and development, compensation, benefits and work/life balance. In addition, employees were asked to rate employee morale in their IT departments, the importance of various benefits, and their agreement with a variety of statements on subjects including career growth, access to new technologies, and whether management treats employees fairly and equally.

"We applaud the organizations on the Best Places to Work in IT list for creating and sustaining dynamic IT work environments," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "This year, several new names have joined the stalwarts that make the list year after year. It's clear that the best IT workplaces are constantly raising the bar with great benefits, new learning opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies and challenging business-critical projects."
