Juno Beach, Fla. – FPL Group has been named one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2010 by Corporate Responsibility Magazine.
“To be recognized as one of the top corporate citizens in the country is a tremendous honor and a tribute to FPL Group’s more than 15,000 employees. We take pride in being a company that does the right thing – environmentally, financially and socially. When President Obama helped commission our solar photovoltaic power plant in Florida last fall, he called us ‘a company that is doing well by doing good.’ That’s what we strive to do every day for our customers, our shareholders and the communities we serve,” said FPL Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lew Hay.
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is based on over 360 data points of publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, financial performance, and governance.
