Florida Power & Light Company named 2015 Customer Champion for electric utilities
Customers rank FPL best utility in the southeast region; second best utility in the nation for outstanding performance

JUNO BEACH, Fla., Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is second in the nation and leads the southeast region for outstanding performance among the nation's leading utilities, according to a survey of utility customers conducted by Cogent Reports™ at Market Strategies International, a leading nationwide research firm.

"Being named a 2015 Customer Champion is not just a matter of recognition but an affirmation of the customer-centric approach that each of our 8,000 employees practice each and every day," said Eric Silagy, president and CEO of FPL. "Furthermore, it's a reflection of our steadfast commitment to providing our customers with a superior value proposition, highlighted by high reliability, affordable bills that are 30 percent below the national average and less today than were 10 years ago, award-winning customer service and one of the cleanest emissions profiles in the nation – all of which we take great pride in."

As part of the Residential Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™ study, FPL achieved top-tier Engaged Customer Relationship scores in every category: Brand Trust, Operational Satisfaction and Product Experience.

The nationwide study is comprised of responses from more than 52,000 residential customers representing the 125 largest U.S. utility companies.

"Utilities that have successfully targeted customer segments based upon their product offering needs have much higher customer engagement scoring," said Chris Oberle, senior vice president at Market Strategies. "Improved customer engagement performance bodes well for all."

Earlier this year, FPL was also named one of the 2015 Most Trusted Brands as well as national leader by customers in overall product experience in separate Cogent Report studies, and won the prestigious ReliabilityOne National Reliability Excellence Award for best electric performance and reliability in America.
